Ding, ding, ding, we have a 10 and have the best cafe I’ve found that caters for food allergies or dietary requirements. Red Robyn in Camberwell specialises in accommodating to dietary requirements and even Nina Simone with her FODMAP requirements couldn’t throw the staff with multiple questions about onion, garlic and the bread.
The bread is gluten free, the smoothies lactose free and even the chocolate is vegan friendly. The menu is set out ot make it easy for you to identify what will be suitable for your needs, I have included some pictures to demonstrate. It’s these details that make Red Robyn special.
Red Robyn’s pared back interior and white washed walls are completemented by a feature wall they have managed the acoustic challenge floor boards and high ceilings well.
Nina Simone had the ‘Sweet Potato Rosti with Salmon, Haloumi and Spinach. The serving of salmon was very generous and came with lots of spinach that wasn’t wet. The rosti itself was also nice and crisp.
Amal’ya had the ‘Avocado Mash with Feta and Poached Eggs’. It was very generous, incredibly tasty and nicely presented.
I had the ‘Poached Eggs with Avocado Mash and Haloumi on Toast’. It was delicious, the haloumi was not overcooked, the avocado mash tasted fresh, the poached eggs could have been pulled out ten seconds earlier but Amal’ya’s were perfect so it was the luck of the draw.
The coffee was good, but Red Robyn is all about the food. Our only gripe, we weren’t told about the self service water until half way through our meals when we asked for some – so note that if you are heading there.
And, do we want to stay for breakfast? Everyone must go there immediately
